Sterkfontein Caves Tour
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the agreed time and set off to the Sterkfontein Caves.
After about an hour's drive, we'll make our first stop at the Maropeng Museum. Do you want to know who Mrs. Ples, the Taung boy, and Little Foot were? We'll find out in this part of the tour.
Explore the exhibitions and take a journey through time, starting with the planet's formation all the way through the many evolutionary processes that resulted in the world as we know it.
After visiting the exhibition halls, we'll enter the caves. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these caves house fossil remains of hominids and animals more than four million years old - the oldest human remains in the world!
You'll be amazed by the caves' history as well as the stalactites and stalagmites. During the tour, you'll also learn how these caves were formed and their great importance for humankind.
After 5 hours and 30 minutes of delving into the origins of mankind, we'll take you back to your hotel in Johannesburg.
