Traditional architecture, beautiful temples, markets full of color and flavors, hills with incredible viewpoints... Discover the charms of Berastagi and Lingga on this tour from Medan.
Description
After picking you up from your hotel in Medan at the designated time, we'll head southwest to Lingga village. The drive will take approximately two hours.
Before arriving at our destination, we'll make a short stop at Lumbini Park. We'll discover a modern Buddhist temple, opened in 2010, which has been built in the style of the Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most famous in Burma. Its radiant gold leaf decoration and colossal portico are seriously impressive!
We'll stroll through a local fruit market before heading back to the vehicle. Then we'll continue our drive to Lingga, where we'll get to see the various traditional village buildings such as the rumah rajah, or king's house, and the sapo ganjang, the house for young men.
We'll then reach Berastagi at 12 noon, where you'll have two hours of free time to have lunch and explore the town. We recommend a trip to Taman Hutan Raya Forest Park, a walk up Gundaling Hill for an incredible view of Berastagi, or a visit to one of the fruit and vegetable markets - it's up to you!
At the end of your free time, we'll meet up again to drive you back to your hotel in Medan, where we'll arrive after a total of 8 hours.
