Puffing Billy Train, Redwood Forest & Yarra Valley Day Trip
Day Trip Details
After picking you up from your selected hotel in Melbourne, we’ll head east to begin a journey full of contrasts. Let’s go!
Our first stop will be in the lush Dandenong Ranges. Here, we’ll board the Puffing Billy, Australia’s most famous steam train. On this journey from Belgrave to Menzies Creek, you’ll travel through fern-filled forests while experiencing the magic of the golden age of rail. Plus, if the museum is open, we’ll visit its collection of vintage locomotives.
We’ll then continue to the charming town of Warburton. There, you’ll have free time to stroll along the riverbank and grab lunch at one of the local bakeries or cafes.
With our energy restored, we’ll head into the Cement Creek Redwood Forest. Walking beneath these towering California redwoods is a breathtaking experience. You’ll enjoy a peaceful nature walk, perfect for unwinding and taking spectacular photos.
To end the day on a high note, we’ll head to Killara Estate winery, right in the heart of the Yarra Valley. There, you can choose between a wine tasting with views of the vineyards or, if you prefer something sweet, an authentic handmade Italian cannolo.
Finally, we’ll return to Melbourne, where we’ll drop you off at your accommodation after 10 hours of adventure.
