Malinche, the Musical Show by Nacho Cano
The Frontón México, a large space for events located next to the Monument to the Revolution, houses for the first time in the Mexican capital the Malinche show, a musical created by Nacho Cano.
This big musical with 27 original songs pays tribute to the figure of Malinche, a historical character who was crucial in the history of America, because through love and courage, she managed to balance various events that shaped the identity of Mexico.
Nacho Cano, founder of the Spanish group Mecano and creator of other musicals such as Hoy no me puedo levantar, created the music, lyrics, and original idea of the show.
In total, more than 60 artists from Mexico and Spain take the stage, performing various musical genres such as flamenco, hip hop, and pop-rock. Additionally, 11 musicians perform live during every show.
The set design includes several monumental screens, and the lobby is laid out to be explored like a museum. Malinche is the first musical to incorporate an olfactory element, featuring distinct scents—one for each scene—that were created in Paris.
Show Duration
The musical lasts 2 hours and 55 minutes, with two acts of 1 hour and 15 minutes each and an interlude of 25 minutes. During this break, the theater's bar and the bar at Templo Canalla, the market bar of the site, are open.
Pre-Show
2 hours before the function starts, the pre-show begins, where you'll enjoy the music before the show. Plus, you can enjoy a drink at the Templo Canalla, the market bar of the site. You'll also have the chance to eat at Pelota Mestiza, the restaurant owned by the chef Lula Martín del Campo.
