Travel to Boston, one of the oldest cities in the States, on this full day trip from New York. This forward-thinking city is a perfect mix of history, tradition, modernity and student ambience.
Boston Day Trip
Depart from New York City first thing in the morning on an air-conditioned coach and head to Boston, Massachusetts.
Upon arrival, we'll find ourselves on the so-called Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile (4 kilometre) long path through downtown Boston that passes by sixteen important historical locations. Admire Boston Common, the Old State House, Paul Revere’s house, the site of the Boston Massacre, and Old North Church as your expert guide brings the history of these emblematic landmarks to life.
Along the Freedom Trail, we'll reach Faneuil Hall, a lively market where you'll have time to sample delicious local specialities for lunch (not included) - try the famous lobster roll, Boston baked beans or clam chowder!
From the historic, to the modern: as well as seeing the Bunker Hill Monument and the USS Constitution, you'll discover that "The Hub" is the beating heart of the contemporary city, home to some of the city's tallest buildings and a lively atmosphere any day of the week.
Our sightseeing tour of Boston will also take us across the Charles River to visit Cambridge. This area is home to two of the most prestigious institutions in the world: Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). We'll admire the historic architecture of Harvard Yard and the enormous Widener Library, as well as the state-of-the-art buildings on the MIT campus.
After a full day immersed in the long and rich heritage of "Beantown", we'll travel back to New York City in the evening, arriving back in the late evening.
