A beautiful place with an unbeatable guide. Javier was a thoughtful and knowledgeable person who conveyed the history to us in a wonderful way. I highly recommend it.

Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from the indicated meeting point and head east to visit one of the most beautiful corners of Asturias: Covadonga. We'll travel to this iconic place in the Principality of Asturias by minibus, in a small group with a maximum of 8 people.

First, we'll go to Ercina Lake, located in the heart of the Picos de Europa National Park. Since we'll be traveling in a small vehicle compared to the large tourist buses, we can get closer to the lakes without needing to walk long distances. We'll admire the beautiful views of this natural environment from the Entrelagos viewpoint, a perfect place to see the famous lakes of Covadonga and the alpine landscapes surrounding them.

From here, we'll move to the Holy Cave of Covadonga, where we can find the image of La Santina and the remains of Don Pelayo, the first king of the Asturian monarchy. The area where this cave is located will take your breath away!

After learning about the history of the cave, the events that have taken place in it, and the importance of the Virgin of Covadonga for Asturians, we'll head to the Basilica of Santa María la Real in Covadonga, one of the best examples of neo-Romanesque architecture in Spain.

To wrap up this small-group excursion, we'll head over to Cangas de Onís. Once there, we'll visit the famous Roman bridge, and then you'll have about 1 hour of free time to explore at your own pace and grab some lunch if you wish.

Finally, we'll head back to the starting point, where our arrival is scheduled after a total of 7 to 8 hours.
