Colón Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Panama City and set off on a 1-hour journey toward the Panamanian Caribbean. During the trip, we’ll uncover the history of our destination: Colón. This port city is shaped by its glorious past and is known as the Tacita de Oro.
Upon arrival in Colón, we’ll make our first stop at the 2 Mares restaurant, famous throughout the province. Here, you can try the region’s fresh ceviche. A perfect introduction to the rhythm of the city.
Next, we’ll begin a vehicle tour through Colón’s historic center, combining panoramic stops with short walks. We’ll visit November 5 Park, the city’s urban heart, where we’ll see the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, with its imposing neoclassical-inspired façade and clean lines.
We’ll continue to the Colón Government Building, a symbol of the province’s administrative importance. Later, we’ll stop in front of La Maison Blanche, an elegant 1913 building that was once one of the tallest and most luxurious in the city.
Nearby, we’ll visit the Everardo Núñez gym, popularly known as the Matchbox. Can you guess why? Here, we’ll discover that this venue is the birthplace of great Panamanian boxing champions and a true symbol of Colón’s resilience.
The tour of Colón will end at the Colón 2000 port and commercial complex, where you’ll have between 1.5 and 2 hours of free time to walk along the pier, see cruise ships, visit duty-free shops, and enjoy a drink with views of the Panama Canal.
Finally, we’ll return to Panama City and say our goodbyes, dropping you off at your hotel after a total of 8 hours.
