As you'll discover on our Paris Mysteries & Legends Free Tour, Paris is much more than just the City of Love. This city's countless squares and alleyways have witnessed murder, plagues, war and corruption, and you'll learn all about this darker side of Paris on our tour.

Paris Mysteries & Legends Free Tour

Starting from Place Louis Lepine, we'll begin our journey through Paris' historic centre by heading to the Notre Dame Cathedral. Although nowadays Paris is famous for its culture, art, fashion and romance, this was not always the case.

As we walk through the squares and alleyways found off the beaten path, we'll tell you the long history of murders, mysteries, executions, plagues and corruption that once ravaged Paris.

We'll learn about the legend of the barber and the baker of Rue Chanoinesse, discover the origins of Paris' Catacombs, and find out about the curse of the Knights Templar. You'll be glad to hear that this tour takes place at dusk, the ideal time to relive these legends and bring them to light.

Some of the places we'll visit include the square in front of the Notre Dame, the Saint Jacques Tower, the Hôtel de Ville (the Paris Town Hall) and the Palais de Justice. This last spot has many stories to tell, as it was the site of countless tortures and executions...

Our tour will end in front of the Church of the Saint-Germain l'Auxarrois.
