Discover the world’s most famous royal palace on this half-day trip from Paris. The Palace of Versailles is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its main rooms and its magnificent gardens.
Day Trip to Versailles from Paris
At your chosen time, we'll depart from near the Eiffel Tower and, about 45 minutes later, we'll arrive in Versailles by bus, the de facto capital of France for several years during the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
Once there, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles, which we'll access without waiting in line at the ticket office. On this tour, we'll stop in different rooms of the palace, among which are the Grand Apartments of the King and Queen.
Of course, we'll also visit the Hall of Mirrors, where in 1919 the Treaty of Versailles was signed, which ended the First World War.
After the guided tour of the Palace of Versailles, which will last approximately 1.5 hours, you'll have free time to stroll around the gardens of Versailles at your leisure. In its more than 800 hectares (1,976 acres), you can admire trees and plants of all kinds, statues, and ponds. You'll also be able to see the fountains running, a beautiful sight to behold, on the days they're running.
Finally, from Versailles we'll return to the meeting point in Paris, where we'll arrive between 4 and 9 hours after the initial pickup, depending on the option you choose during the booking process.
Tour Options
When booking your day trip to Versailles from Paris, you can choose between these two options (both include admission to the palace).
6-Hour Day Trip
This option is ideal if you’re looking for a hassle-free tour. It includes return transport from central Paris, admission to the Palace of Versailles, and the services of an English-speaking guide during the tour of the interior.
9-Hour Day Trip
This option is for those who want to see it all. As well as transport and a guided tour of the main palace, this option includes priority access to the Grand Trianon and the Petit Trianon, the French monarchy’s most intimate retreats.
Skip-The-Line Entrance
One of the great advantages of this tour is that it includes skip-the-line entry. As we’ll be accompanied by an official guide, we’ll enter through the group entrance, allowing you to make the most of your time. Please note that, for security reasons, all visitors must pass through the mandatory metal detector screening at the entrances.
Duration of the Tour
- The duration of the guided tour of the Palace of Versailles will always be the same, i.e., 1.5 hours.
- However, on morning departures, the free time available to visit the gardens will be longer.
- In addition, with the 9-hour tour option, you can also take a free tour of the small and large Trianon palaces, which are located at the back of the garden of the Palace of Versailles.
