During our journey south, we'll pass the picturesque landscapes of the Italian countryside. After almost 3 hours of traveling, we'll reach the Pompeii archeological site, where we'll embark on a fascinating 1.5-hour guided tour.
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Pompeii is famous for being one of the world's best-preserved ancient cities. Did you know Pompeii was buried under layers of volcanic ash from Mount Vesuvius? Accompanied by the guide, you'll understand what Roman life was like and explore the emblematic sites such as the Forum, the theatre, and the villas adorned with frescoes and mosaics.
Hungry? After the tour, you'll have free time to grab a bite at a restaurant in Pompeii. We'll then regroup to start our journey toward the coastal town of Sorrento. Known for its impressive views of the Mediterranean Sea, lemon trees, and colorful houses, you'll have 1 hour of free time here to stroll along the town's charming streets.
Afterward, we'll return to Rome to conclude this day trip to Pompeii and Sorrento, arriving 13 hours later.
