Experience a magical night on this glowworm kayaking tour in Rotorua. We'll head into small caves inhabited by these luminous creatures and even stargaze!
At the time indicated, we'll meet at Rotorua Information Centre. From here, you'll catch a shuttle and travel past the iconic Redwood forest towards our base on the lake shore.
Upon arrival, we'll kit up and prepare for an incredible night. Our guide will give us a safety talk and basic kayak instructions before we take to the water.
Then, it's time to start exploring the shoreline under the last light of the evening. Once it’s dark, we'll follow the guide into small hidden caves home to galaxies of glowworms. These creatures will light up the dark caves with blue and white lights. How magical!
On clear nights, the magic continues as it's possible to see the Milky Way fill the sky. It's incredible to be on calm water under a sparkling sky in total darkness.
At the end of the activity, we'll take you back to the starting point. The kayaking activity itself lasts around 1 hour, but overall with transfers there and back, this activity lasts around 3 hours.
