Visit Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Agrodome to hop on a vehicle that, in a few minutes, will bring us to the National Kiwi Hatchery. This conservation centre, designed specifically for the protection and breeding of kiwis, will immerse you into the world of this unique bird.
Upon arrival at the hatchery, we'll start a 1-hour guided tour where you'll learn all about kiwis, their natural habitat and the threats they face. Did you know that this nocturnal animal is a symbol of New Zealand?
During the tour, you'll have the opportunity to observe kiwis in their environment, including a specially designed space to simulate the darkness of their nocturnal habitat—you'll be amazed to see them in action!
You'll also be able to discover how the incubation and hatching process of kiwi eggs works, thanks to the explanations given by the centre's experts. You'll see state-of-the-art facilities and learn how your support directly contributes to conservation efforts, with all the proceeds from the entrance fees going to this important programme!
After the tour, you'll have free time to visit the gift shop, where you'll find unique souvenirs of this experience.
Finally, we'll return to the Agrodome and say goodbye after a total of 1 hour and 40 minutes.
