Gulf of Fonseca Islands Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Salvador. We'll board a comfortable bus and travel for 3.5 hours to the port of La Unión, where we'll swap the bus for a boat to explore the Gulf of Fonseca.
We'll pass by the La Unión naval base, the famous Calvo tuna plant, Punta Chiquirín, Conchaguita Island, and many other points of interest, including the vents of the Conchagua volcano. Our first stop will be on Meanguera Island, where we'll disembark for around 30 minutes to take a stroll and get a glimpse of local life.
We'll then continue by boat toward Zacatillo Island, where we'll make a 2.5-hour stop to explore at your own pace. This is also the perfect opportunity to grab a bite at one of the local restaurants and sample the country's cuisine on your own.
At the agreed time, we'll regroup and head back to the municipal dock at La Unión. Along the way, we'll be able to spot the islands of Conejo and Chupito. The views are fantastic!
Once there, we'll board the bus again and take you back to your hotel in San Salvador, wrapping up this 14.5-hour day trip.
