Lose yourself in the captivating magic of the Andes mountains on this day trip to the Portillo ski resort and the mythical Laguna del Inca. What are you waiting for?

Portillo & Inca Lagoon Day Trip Itinerary

On the morning of your excursion, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Santiago de Chile and taken north onto the highway of the Conquistadors. Along the route, you'll make a brief stop to contemplate the monument commemorating one of the most important times in Chile's history.

Throughout your minibus journey, which will last around an hour, you'll be able to enjoy magnificent views of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in both the southern and western hemispheres. Finally, you'll reach Portillo Ski Station, in the Valparaíso region.

Portillo was among the first tourist ski resorts in South America, having first opened in 1949. The station is one of the best places for snow sports in the country, and sees many professional skiers visit during the northern hemisphere's summer, which falls in Chilean winter, to train. You'll have free time to explore Portillo at your own pace - depending on the season, you could hire skiing equipment (not included) or hike around the valley.

What's more, after enjoying everything Portillo has to offer, you'll head to the nearby Laguna del Inca, a lake nestled in the foothills of the Andes. Not only will you enjoy the spectacular sight of the peaceful lagoon overlooked by dramatic snow-capped mountains, you'll also feel the magic of a mysterious tale... The legend goes that the laguna was created by the tears of a heartbroken Inca man... discover the whole story on the day of your tour!

Following a full day of fun in Portillo, you'll return to Santiago de Chile, where you'll arrive at your hotel at around 4:30 pm.
