If you like sport, you'll love this Masca Ravine Hike. You'll get to walk through one of the most beautiful unspoilt spots in Tenerife, breathe in the fresh air and take some incredible photos.
Masca Ravine Hike
At 9 am, we'll meet at General Franco Avenue in Santiago del Teide. We'll get on a public bus and head to the famous Masca hamlet, just 20 minutes away.
We'll head to the Visitors' Centre where we'll learn all about the Masca ravine. From here, we'll begin our 6.2 mile (10 km) hiking route that'll lead us to the incredible landscape around the gorge.
Our route will begin in the heart of the Teno Rural Park as we descend through a once volcanic canyon, whose unique shape has been formed by 5 million years of flowing water. We'll follow the course of the Masca stream, admiring the birds that fly overhead and taking note of the different plant species that we'll encounter.
The path will then take us to Masca Beach, a wild bay that can only be reached by boat or on foot. We'll take a break here and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks as we take in the towering Los Gigantes cliffs. When we're ready, we'll start the ascent up the ravine.
We'll arrive back in Masca and board the bus to Santiago del Teide. We'll finish the activity and say our goodbyes between 4 pm and 5 pm at the starting point.
