Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Baní or Santo Domingo for a fascinating tour of the highlights of Baní.

We'll head out to the outskirts of the city to go sandboarding on the Baní dunes, a vast sea of sand formed by sediment from the Baní and Nizao rivers and the Bahía stream. These dunes reach up to 35 meters (115 feet) in height! Along the way, we'll take in the local flora, including red mangrove, olive trees, cambrón, and cacti.

Next, we'll make our way to the Laguna del Salado Muerto and the salt mines, founded by Nicolás de Ovando during the colonial era. The communities in this part of the country make their living from the production and sale of this mineral.

We'll then head into the city center and step inside the Cathedral of Our Lady of Regla, a colonial church with traces dating back to the 18th century. Inside, we'll admire the figure of the Virgin of Regla, which dates from 1889.

After this visit, we'll take you back to your starting point, arriving 4 hours after pickup.
