The São Paulo Zoo, the Largest Zoo in Latin America

Nestled within the Atlantic Forest and nestled along the banks of the Ipiranga stream, the São Paulo Zoo invites you to immerse yourself in one of the city's largest green spaces while discovering one of Latin America's most outstanding animal collections. Welcome!

During your visit, your tickets will take you through a vast Atlantic Forest landscape, lagoons, and wooded trails spanning over 886946 ft (824,000 square m). This privileged natural setting transforms the experience into much more than just a stroll among the animals!

If it's so large, how long does it take to explore the São Paulo Zoo? About 5 hours—and it's easy to see why! During your visit, you'll wander through enclosures designed to meticulously recreate the natural habitats of each species. This allows you to observe the animals in conditions close to their natural behavior. The zoo is home to over 3,200 animals belonging to some 444 species, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians from Brazil and other continents.

You'll discover areas dedicated to big cats, where you can see lions, tigers, and jaguars, as well as spacious enclosures for elephants and giraffes. You'll also explore areas reserved for primates, where you'll find chimpanzees and various monkey species.

You can also venture into the reptile area, where you'll find caimans and snakes, as well as aviaries featuring flamingos and numerous tropical birds.

Did you know that this zoo has a specialized nursery for babies rejected by their mothers? It's a facility equipped with incubators and advanced veterinary areas. During your visit, you can also learn about their conservation efforts for endangered species. Come prepared to walk, because it's huge!
