Discover the beautiful landscapes of rural Cambodia on this private tour of Tonlé Sap from Siem Reap. You'll enjoy a boat trip on the lake and visit the floating village of Chong Kneas!
Description
At your selected time on the day of the tour, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap and head towards Tonlé Sap. Part of the Tonlé Sap National Reserve, this is the largest lake in Cambodia and its river flows into the Mekong River.
Arriving at the Phnom Krom pier, we'll set sail on Tonlé Sap Lake, enjoying a peaceful boat ride across its calm waters as we admire its sheer size, which varies between 2,500 and 16,000 square kilometres depending on the season. In monsoon season, the lakeside forests are completely flooded by the rain!
Our boat trip will take us to Chong Kneas, a floating village whose homes are built on stilts above the lake waters. Sailing alongside the stilt houses, we'll discover how the locals live in this unique environment.
After visiting the floating village of Chong Kneas, we'll make our way back to Siem Reap.
Group Organisation
Groups of up to 15 people will have 1 guide. For groups of 25 to 50 people, the tour will be conducted with 2 guides.
