Free Tour of Sofia
Free Tour of Sofia
At the appointed time we'll meet in front of the Palace of Justice, a perfect place to start our free tour of Sofia. From there we'll walk to the heart of the old town, which will surprise you with every step we take.
During this visit, we'll get to know part of Sofia's history. This city is a reflection of each of the cultures and ideologies that have lived here. You'll get to see all of its different architectural styles!
One of our stops will also be the Sveta Nedelya church and the coat of arms of Sofia, and then we'll visit the small hermitage of Sveta Petka, whose curious stone façade will surprise you!
The tour will pass the Roman ruins before reaching the Banya Bashi Mosque, one of the hallmarks of the Ottoman past of the Bulgarian capital. We'll also admire the Sofia Synagogue and discover the terrible episodes that took place in the city during the Second World War.
Other buildings we'll see during the visit are the Sofia Museum, the Bath House, the Bulgarian Communist Party headquarters, the Parliament, the Ivan Vazov National Theatre and the Royal Palace. Then we'll visit the Church of St. Sophia, whose ancient early Christian temple gave its name to the city.
To round off the free tour of Sofia, we'll see the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, considered one of the most beautiful Orthodox buildings in the world. The tour will end admiring this beauty after 2 hours of sightseeing.
