Experience the best of Valencia on this comprehensive tour: explore the historic city centre and indulge in delicious local specialities on a food tour!
Valencia Sightseeing & Food Tour Itinerary
Meet your guide at the historic Porta dels Serrans, one of twelve gates in the Medieval city walls, ready to begin your tour of Valencia's emblematic monuments and legendary traditions. You'll get the best of both worlds, delving into its historic centre on a sightseeing route and experiencing local cuisine on a food tour!
Stroll through another ancient city gate, the Porta de Quart, and enter the beautiful streets of the historic centre, which will bring you to the Plaça del Tossal, a favourite square for locals to meet and enjoy a drink at any time of day. You'll then wander onwards to the city's Plaça del Mercat, a market square full of stalls selling local handicrafts.
Experience authentic daily life in Valencia next as you head into the Central Market, where the gastronomic part of your tour will begin. Under this Modernist structure, you'll find a wide range of food stalls selling all manner of Mediterranean produce - a true delight for the senses!
You'll have free time in the market to buy delicacies to sample before heading to a lively nearby taberna, a traditional bar which allows you to bring your own food!
With full stomachs and happy tastebuds, you'll enjoy a guided tour of the El Mercat district, located within the Old Town, or Ciutat Vella. Explore its golden-stone streets and squares, and - of course - make a stop at a bakery where you'll be able to purchase typical Valencian pastries.
Your tour will come to an end at the Galeria Del Tossal, where your guide will give you recommendations on where to go next to continuing discovering the city at your own pace.
