How to Visit Hobbiton in New Zealand?
At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in the centre of Auckland before boarding a minibus in which we'll set off across the green landscapes of New Zealand to Matamata, where Hobbiton is located.
After a 2.5-hour journey, we'll arrive in the magical region of the Shire™. Along with a guide specialising in The Lord of the Rings, we'll discover all the secrets behind the making of this incredible movie. Do you know how Peter Jackson found this place?
Throughout the trip, you'll discover the filming secrets of these famous movies and learn all about the main characters of the saga, like Frodo, Bilbo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Pippin Took, or Meriadoc Brandigamo.
During the tour, we’ll see the Hobbit Holes™ and even Gandalf’s cart. We promise you won’t be able to stop taking photos! You’ll also be able to step inside the famous Green Dragon Inn to enjoy a refreshing hobbit beer.
After this incredible visit to Hobbiton, we’ll board the minibus again and head back to Auckland. We’ll be back at your hotel between 8.5 and 9 hours after the start of the activity.
