Chiang Mai Temples Private Tour

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai at 8:30 am ready to begin exploring some of Chiang Mai's most important temples. The tour will start with an overview of the Thai city. Did you know that this city has more than 700 years of history?

Afterwards, we'll follow a winding road that will lead us to the top of the hill overlooking the city, where we'll find Chiang Mai's most important temple, the Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. This sacred place, located more than 1000 (3000 ft) meters above sea level, dates back 600 years. It contains the symbol of the city, the copperplated Chedi topped by a five-tier gold parasol that contains the relics of the Buddha.

Next, we'll go to the temple's terrace, to take in the spectacular view of Chiang Mai.  From here, we'll walk up the 306 steps of the famous Naga staircase, which takes its name from the two imposing mythological figures carved at the beginning of the steps, representing two snakes with dragon's head. If you feel tired to climb to the top, however, don't worry... You can take the funicular

When we go back down to the city we'll visit the Wat Suan Dok Temple, the "Temple of the King's Flower Garden", famous for its golden Stupa. Continuing on to Chiang Mai's old town, we'll stop at the Wat Chedi Luang Temple, with its impressive Stupa, constructed in 1411.

The tour will end after about seven hours exploring the city's temples.
