Discover why El Chalten is known as Patagonia's hiking capital when you take this trip to the "youngest town in Argentina".

El Chalten Trip.

After collecting you in the morning for your hotel in El Calafate we head to El Chalten. Our itinerary begins by following the mythical 'Ruta 40' road which will take around Argentino Lake, over Santa Cruz river, and through some of the most spectacular scenery in Patagonia,

We will make a stop at the settlement of La Leona on the banks of the river of the same name. Here, we will stretch our legs and refresh with a coffee and traditional homemade pastry (not included). Later, we will continue our itinerary, following the shorelines of Viedma Lake, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Fitz Roy mountain range and Glacier Viedma.

Around midday, we arrive at El Chalten, the so-called 'youngest town in Argentina' due to only being officially founded in the 1970s. Once we arrive, our guide will show you the best hiking routes around the Fitz Roy mountain range area, for you to explore by yourself. These are the most impressive landscapes in all of Argentina.

The guide will also provide you with a map of the area and a delicious picnic comprising a sandwich, piece of fruit, muffin, and a bottle of water.

After you have enjoyed your free time in these spectacular surroundings, we will meet up once more to begin our return journey to El Calafate.
