Self-Guided Day Trip to Auschwitz-Birkenau

Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, we’ll meet at 17 Floriana Straszewskiego Street, and, from there, we'll leave Kraków behind and head to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

After a journey of approximately 1.15 hours, we'll reach the small town of Oświęcim, which witnessed the horror of Nazism between 1940 and 1945. In this period of World War II, the Third Reich built the concentration camps of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, where terrible atrocities were committed against mainly Jews and prisoners of war.

Today, these spaces form part of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. During your tour of this museum, you can visit the area where camp inmates were held. The cell block, barracks, and latrines still carry the gloomy, run-down atmosphere from that time. The crematorium ovens, gas chambers, and even the barbed wire surrounding the entire site echo the horrors of the past. 

During the tour, you can also see the famous train tracks in Auschwitz, which once carried thousands of condemned people from all over Europe toward a cruel fate. Also, during your visit, you can check the English-language brochure available to learn more about the history of every corner of this haunting place.

After finishing your tour of Auschwitz, 2.5 hours later, we'll regroup to begin our journey back to the starting point in Kraków, where we'll arrive after 8.5 hours.

Documentation

• The first and last names listed on the reservation must match the national ID documents you present on the day of the activity. If they do not match, you'll be denied entry. If you make separate reservations, you may not be assigned to the same group or vehicle.
• Tickets are non-transferable, and only one change per reservation is allowed. This change may affect no more than 10% of the participants.

Schedule

The pickup time is subject to change. The tour can begin between 5 am and 1:30 pm; the time selected on the website is not guaranteed. The exact pickup time or meeting point will be communicated the day before the tour via email, WhatsApp, and other available means. If the departure time changes, we will contact you. Otherwise, the originally scheduled time will remain the same. Please plan your day so that it accommodates the pickup time. Transportation will be by bus or minibus, depending on the size of the group.
