If you want to make the most out of the Swiss Alps, then you can't miss this trip from Lucerne, which will allow you to visit the town of Grindelwald and the top of the iconic First Mountain. You'll love it!
From the Landenberg bus park, we'll board the bus and head to the canton of Bern. In this region in the heart of Switzerland, we'll make a brief photo stop in the Alpine town of Interlaken, named for its location between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.
Next, we'll make our way to one of the most beautiful villages in the region... Grindelwald awaits! Upon arriving at this fairy-tale town, we'll hand out your cable car tickets for Mount First. The gondolas will carry you effortlessly up to this summit at 2,100 meters (6,890 feet). The scenery will take your breath away!
You'll have around 3 hours of free time on Mount First to grab a bite and soak up the stunning Alpine landscapes at your own pace. Your cable car ticket also includes access to the First View observation platform and the Cliff Walk by Tissot suspension bridge, which stretches 40 meters (130 feet) across the mountainside.
Make sure to leave enough time to take the cable car back down to Grindelwald, where you can explore the village at your own pace before we regroup and head to our final stop: Lauterbrunnen. Did you know it's considered one of the most beautiful villages in the Swiss Alps?
From there, we'll board the bus back to the meeting point in Lucerne, wrapping up this 10-hour day trip.
At the summit of the First Mountain, you'll be able to enjoy the following optional activities available from May 1, 2026, until October 27, 2026:
This zipline is located 800 metres (2,624 ft) above the ground and reaches 84 kilometres an hour (52 mph), covering the distance that separates First Mountain and the Schreckelf Station.
With this activity, the itinerary is the same as the previous activity, but the zipline is in the shape of an eagle and allows for 4 people to ride together.
This pedal-powered vehicle will take you from First Mountain to the station in Bort. This route is around 3 kilometres long (1.86 miles) and is perfect for discovering the stunning landscape of the area.
This is a type of electric bike that you can use to get from First Mountain to Grindelwald Station.
