Free Tour of the Bosque de Chapultepec
The tour meets in front of the obelisk of the Angel of Independence monument. Do you know why this monolith has become a symbol of the Mexican capital? Then we'll continue our free tour around the Paseo de la Reforma, where we'll see the fountain of 'Diana the Hunter' an allegorical monument found in front of one of the most popular cinemas in the city, which also bears the name of the Roman Goddess.
Our free tour continues to the Torre Mayor, a skyscraper on Avenida Paseo de la Reforma, whose shape has become a reference point in the Mexico City skyline. Then, in front of this imposing building of glass and steel, we'll enjoy the 'Light Stele', constructed to commemorate the bicentenary of the Independence of Mexico.
Behind the Light Stele can be found the Chapultepec forest, we'll explore inside to discover its main attractions, including the Monument to the Child Heroes. This memorial pays homage to all the young soldiers who lost their lives in the battle of Chapultepec, and we'll learn more about this 1847 conflict between Mexican and United States troops by visiting the surroundings of the castle where the battle took place.
We'll finally put an end to our free tour of Chapultepec, taking in other key commemorative areas, such as the Monument to 201 squadron, paying tribute to the Mexican flying squadron who took part in the Second World War.
