Tour Options

When booking this tour, you can choose between two different tour options. Both tours leave from Mexico City and head to Teotihuacan, about 50 minutes away. Once at the archaeological site, we'll take a guided tour of the grounds featuring major monuments, such as the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Road of the Dead.

Additionally, both options include a guided visit to an artisanal workshop and free time is provided to explore the area or have lunch.

Below, you can see a more in-depth description of each tour option:

Morning Tour (8 hours)

We arrive at the Teotihuacán archaeological site at the best possible time, early in the morning. This way, we'll avoid the long lines and masses of tourists which flood into the area every day.

We'll pass through the City of the Gods, and stop at a workshop run by a local family, to enjoy a tasting menu of cactus-based drinks, such as the traditional brews, tequila, mezcal and pulque.

Before heading back to Mexico City, we'll leave you free time to eat and enjoy the impressive variety of traditional Mexican dishes on offer.

Afternoon Tour (5 hours)

Once we arrive at Teotihuacan, we'll listen in to a brief introduction to the meaning and symbolism of this historic site. Then, we'll enjoy 2 hours touring the ruins followed by an hour of free time for lunch.

Before leaving the archeological site, we'll also visit an obsidian workshop, a typical volcanic glass of this region. We'll discover how to work with it and what kind of products can be made with this material.

Finally, we'll return to the meeting point in Mexico City.
