3-Day Pompeii, Sorrento & Capri Tour
Tour Details
Day 1
After picking you up from your hotel, we’ll take the Autostrada del Sole heading south, passing through the green Roman countryside and the Castelli Romani area. There, at Montecassino Abbey, one of the major battles of World War II took place.
Our first destination will be Sorrento, where we’ll enjoy a short bus tour of the historic center before heading straight to the hotel to check in and rest. You’ll then have the rest of the day free to explore the city at your own pace. You might start in Piazza Tasso, the lively heart of Sorrento, surrounded by restaurants, cafés, and elegant neoclassical buildings.
Don’t miss the Chiostro di San Francesco, a peaceful spot with intertwined arches and sea views, perfect for soaking up the charm of the Amalfi Coast. To the west, you’ll find Marina di Puolo, a fishing district where pastel-colored houses blend into the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. You’ll fall in love with it!
In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner at the hotel and get some rest. See you tomorrow!
Day 2
After breakfast, we’ll take a boat to the island of Capri, arriving at its famous port, Marina Grande. Our first stop, weather permitting, will be the stunning Blue Grotto, a sea cave that collapsed millions of years ago, letting in light that creates its signature blue glow.
Our final stop will be Capri town, the island’s main urban hub, where you’ll have free time to stroll around, visit the famous Piazzetta, shop for souvenirs, and take unforgettable photos.
We’ll then return to Sorrento for a delicious dinner at the hotel before calling it a day.
Day 3
After breakfast, you’ll have some free time in Sorrento to enjoy this charming town at your leisure. Around midday, we’ll set off for Pompeii. Upon arrival, we’ll skip the lines and begin a guided tour of the ruins, stepping back into the days of Ancient Rome. We’ll visit the Forum, the city’s political and social center, surrounded by temples and columns that still echo its grandeur.
We’ll also see the House of the Faun, one of Pompeii’s most luxurious residences, known for its mosaic depicting Alexander the Great, and the House of the Vettii, where beautifully preserved frescoes illustrate mythological scenes of extraordinary beauty.
Finally, after the tour, we’ll return to Rome, arriving around 8 pm at the city center or, if you prefer, near your hotel.
Very Important! Low Season
From November to March, please note that on day 2, we won’t visit Capri. Instead, you’ll have the whole day in Sorrento to explore the city on your own.
Also, keep in mind that during the winter months (especially January and February), many hotels in Sorrento are closed. For this reason, accommodation during these months is usually in a 3-star hotel.
