In this snorkeling adventure on Sal Island, we'll explore the vibrant seabed of Cape Verde, renowned as one of the best locations in the Atlantic for snorkeling. Prepare to be mesmerized by the region's stunning biodiversity!
At the designated time, our team will pick you up from your hotel, and we'll head to the dive center situated on Santa Maria Beach. Excited to commence this snorkeling trip on Sal Island? Let's get started!
After brief introductions, we'll provide masks and life jackets before boarding a boat that will transport us to the chosen snorkeling spot. Depending on sea conditions, safety considerations, visibility, and Atlantic currents, we'll opt for either the Bay of Santa Maria or Bikini.
The Bay of Santa Maria, located just 200 meters (650 feet) from the coast, boasts a reef reaching depths of up to 8 meters (26 feet), offering an impressive encounter with parrot fish, trumpet fish, rays, turtles, and even moray eels.
Alternatively, Bikini, situated in the northwest of Sal Island, features a shallower reef, ranging between 2 and 6 meters (6.5 - 20 feet). Here, you'll have the opportunity to observe corals, moray eels, lobsters, and a diverse array of tropical fish.
After two captivating hours, our snorkeling adventure in Sal Island will conclude as we return to the starting point.
