Day Trip Details

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Santiago to start this day trip in a reduced group to Cajón del Maipo. Are you ready to discover one of Chile's natural gems? Let's go!

Our first destination of the day will be San José de Maipo, a picturesque town with a rich cultural heritage about 31 miles (50 kilometers) from the Chilean capital. Here, you'll discover its history and folklore, and you can enjoy breakfast on your own.

After, we'll continue the tour and make a stop so you can take pictures at the shores of the Maipo River, whose waters flow directly from Andean glaciers. We'll continue our tour toward the spectacular Embalse del Yeso, famous for its intense turquoise blue waters. If the weather allows, we'll go on a short hike in its surroundings.

Depending on the weather, we’ll also make a stop at El Yeso Park, where you can take in even more of the area's stunning beauty. Later, we’ll take a break so you can grab lunch on your own at one of the local restaurants, a great chance to try some authentic Chilean cuisine in a pretty unique setting.

Once we’ve recharged, we’ll dive into rural Andean life to learn about their local customs and how they craft their handmade products. To top it all off, we’ll enjoy a small picnic featuring cheeses, olives, salami, wine, and juices.

Lastly, we'll stop at the Plaza de San José de Maipo before starting our journey back to Santiago de Chile. Finally, we'll say our goodbyes at your hotel between 9 and 10 hours after pickup.
