Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Town Hall Square, where your guide will welcome the group at the arched entrance to the Town Hall and set the scene for what was once the social and commercial heart of medieval Tallinn.

Our first stop is the Town Hall Pharmacy, one of the longest continuously operating pharmacies in Europe, where we'll learn how medieval healers and apothecaries shaped the city's traditions. From there, we'll climb Toompea Hill, once home to Estonia's noble families, and visit St. Mary's Cathedral, the oldest church in mainland Estonia, known for its historic coats of arms and peaceful interior.

We'll then explore the Church of the Holy Spirit, a small but significant medieval church featuring a remarkable ancient altar and intricate woodwork crafted by local artisans. Nearby, we'll visit the Marzipan Gallery, where traditional hand-molded figures tell the story of how this sweet became woven into Tallinn's cultural identity.

Strolling down Rataskaevu Street, one of the Old Town's most atmospheric lanes, we'll hear stories of guilds, trades, and local legends before reaching the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, whose striking domed architecture reflects the city's multicultural history.

We'll pause at both the Patkuli and Kohtuotsa viewing platforms for stunning views of Tallinn's towers, walls, and harbor, the perfect vantage points for understanding the city's historic layout and skyline.

The tour also includes a stop at a local artisan corner, where traditional crafts are kept alive by contemporary makers, and a walk through the Danish King's Garden, steeped in legends connected to Estonia's early rulers. We'll wrap up near St. Olaf's Church, once considered the tallest building in the medieval world and still one of Tallinn's most recognizable landmarks.

Finally, after a total of 2 hours, we'll say our goodbyes back at the original meeting point on Town Hall Square.
