At the designated time, we'll meet on Vesterbrogade Street, next to Rådhuspladsen, to kick off this alternative tour of Copenhagen. On this route, we'll leave the city's most famous monuments behind and get in touch with the underground side of the Danish capital.
First, we'll head to Vesterbro, Copenhagen's trendiest neighborhood. Vintage hipster clothing shops, cutting-edge restaurants, and street art murals have put this area on the map in recent years.
Did you know Vesterbro used to be Copenhagen's red-light district? We'll tell you all about the traces left behind from the days when the whole area was packed with nightclubs and adult shops.
From there, we'll hop on public transport to Christianshavn, known as Copenhagen's canal district. Beyond its charming, idyllic vibe, this area is famous for being home to the Freetown Christiania. We'll walk around the outside of this hippie commune and reveal everything about its origins and its unusual laws that exist outside the European Union. You'll be surprised!
After 2.5 hours, we'll wrap up the alternative tour of Copenhagen with our goodbyes near the Christiania neighborhood.
