Tour Details

We'll meet at the designated time at Plaza Independence, the perfect starting point to begin our free tour of Montevideo. Here, you'll admire the grandeur of the historic buildings that form its monumental ensemble and visit the Mausoleum of José Gervasio, Uruguay's national hero.

We'll pass through the former location of the Gateway of the Citadel, the access to the ancient walled city, before we stop in front of the Solís Theatre, a cultural gem in the Uruguayan capital. You'll admire its Neoclassical-style facade, and we'll share some interesting facts about this emblematic building.

Then, we'll walk along the Peatonal Sarandí, a lively street filled with art and life. Here, you'll find the unique Espacio de los Soles, and we'll stop at the Plaza de la Diversidad, a symbol of respect and inclusion in Uruguayan society. You'll be amazed by its history!

We'll continue our tour by stopping in front of the Montevideo Cabildo and the elegant Club Uruguay, two buildings that reflect the city's Colonial and aristocratic past. Afterward, we'll reach the charming Plaza Matriz and visit the Montevideo Metropolitan Cathedral, one of the oldest cathedrals in the country.

From here, we'll walk toward the picturesque Plaza Sabala. To end on a high note, we'll reach the Port Market, one of the most iconic spots in Montevideo.

Here, we'll say our goodbyes after 2.5 hours, and we'll give culinary recommendations so you can try the local delicacies on your own.
