Pyramids of Giza, Memphis and Saqqara

Tour Options

When making your reservation, you can choose from the following options:

Half-Day Tour (3 hours)

At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and head to Giza, located about 20 km (12.4 mi) from the Egyptian capital.

Once in Giza, you’ll enjoy a guided tour to explore the Great Sphinx of Giza and the three largest and most iconic pyramids in Egypt, built for the pharaohs Cheops, Khafre, and Menkaure. If you're comfortable in enclosed spaces, you’ll have the option to enter the pyramids on your own.

After visiting the pyramids, we’ll return to your hotel in Cairo, where this 3-hour activity will conclude.

Full-Day Tour (8 hours)

At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cairo and head to Giza for the same guided tour of the Great Sphinx and the three pyramids, as described in the half-day option.

At lunchtime, we stop to enjoy a typical menu, which includes, among other dishes, delicious grilled chicken kebabs with vegetables, hummus, tahini, and Arabic bread. For dessert: sweet pastries and a refreshing fruit salad.

Then, with the energy to face the afternoon, we'll make our way to the Saqqara necropolis, one of the most important links we have to the history of ancient Egypt, where, amongst other things, you can see the pyramid of Pharaoh Zoser: the first of Egypt's great pyramids.

In Saqqara, we'll also visit the tomb of Chaty Mehu, which was recently opened to the public for the first time since its discovery in the 1940s. This high-ranking official in the sixth dynasty was buried with honours away from the reach of tomb robbers, meaning the hieroglyphs that decorated it have been exceptionally well conserved. 

Our final stop will be Memphis, the old capital of Egypt, a real open-air museum where you can see, among other monuments, the impressive sculpture of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphynx.

The tour then ends back at your hotel after 8 hours.

Inside the Pyramids

If you’re brave enough and don’t mind tight, enclosed spaces, you can choose to go inside the pyramids. You can visit either the Khafre, or Menkaure pyramids for 300 LE (US$ 6.04), or, if you prefer, take on the Great Pyramid of Cheops for 1,500 LE (US$ 30.24), which is highly recommended. Due to time constraints, visiting all three pyramids won’t be possible. Tickets are purchased on-site, and payment must be made in cash and local currency.
