Hike Details

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Cuzco as we set off to begin one of the most extraordinary journeys in Peru. Are you prepared to embark on the Inca Trail?

The journey to the Ollantaytambo train station lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Once there, you'll have some time to have a tasty breakfast if you wish.

Afterward, we'll board the train bound for kilometer 104, the starting point of the Inca Trail. You'll admire the fascinating landscape along the sacred Vilcanota River on this 1-hour train ride.

Once we arrive at our destination, we'll begin to walk along a bridge over the Urubamba River to passport control. After everything is ready, we'll first head to Chachamamba, an archeological site with many iturgical channels and sources. After telling you about its history, we'll start ascending toward Wiñaywayna, an impressive Incan site that was an agricultural center for many terraces, a religious sector, and an urban sector. This part of the hike will last around 3.5 hours.

After the guided tour of this site, we'll sit down to enjoy a well-deserved, delicious lunch. After revitalizing, we'll continue our hike for another hour until we reach Inti Punku, the Sun Gate. From here, you'll take your first glimpses of Machu Picchu.

After taking incredible photos, we'll walk for 40 more minutes to the enigmatic Incan citadel of Machu Picchu. Here, you'll have approximately 2.5 hours of free time so you can explore one of the most important archaeological sites in the world at your own pace.

Then, we'll board a bus that will take us to the city of Aguas Calientes, where the train station is found. You can grab a bite to eat before boarding the train that will take us back to the Ollantaytambo train station.

Upon your arrival in Cuzco, we'll be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel, bringing this memorable day of exploration to a close.
