Aditya Was a wonderful tour guide. There were just four of us but he showed us the several temples from the different religions in India. We walked through the marketplace and that was also very interesting and he answered all her questions. We were able to see a slice of a old Delhi with him.

Itinerary

After meeting at the distinctive reddish façade of the entrance to the Digambar Jain Lal temple, we begin our walking tour through this exotic city. Ready? Let’s go!

The first stop on the route is the building you find in front of you, the Digambar Jain Lal temple, the oldest shrine to Jainism in the capital of India. Here, in one of the founding districts of Delhi, Chandni Chowk, you will also discover the Red Fort, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007.

During this tour will we browse some of the numerous bazaars which will mesmerize you with their variety of typical Indian products including spices, materials, and jewellery. Whether you love shopping or not, you're sure to be enchanted!

We will also pass the Golden Fort, constructed between 1747 and 1751 and which stands out for its three domes, which were originally a copper colour. You will also learn about the culture of Delhi through its historical havelis (traditional Indian townhouses). We will reach the Town Hall where there once stood a statue of Queen Victoria which was replaced by the statue of Swami Shraddhanand that you can see today,

We end this free tour admiring the facades of two famous monuments – the Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, one of nine buildings of this type that are to be found around the city, and the Jama Masjid mosque.
