On this free tour, you'll explore Mouraria, the neighborhood of Lisbon that saw the creation of fado, and the urban art and viewpoints in Graça
Mouraria Free Walking Tour
Begin your free walking tour of one of Lisbon's most historic neighborhoods by meeting your guide in the Praça da Figueira, next to the statue of King Dom João I on horseback. We'll stroll along this esplanade and through the neighbourhood of Santa Ana to reach our first stop: Mouraria.
We'll walk through its oldest streets, passing by Largo dos Trigueiros and Largo da Achada, where we'll get to know the so-called 'black Lisbon'. Then we'll arrive at the Palácio Rosa to admire its baroque façade while we learn all about it.
During the tour, we'll also admire the huge murals that decorate the facades of the houses. We'll be now discussing art and, for that, we'll go to the Fado Mural. Did you know that it's one of the most photographed spots in Mouraria?
Off to our next destination, we'll move to a very different part of Lisbon. Do you enjoy visiting viewpoints? We'll continue the tour in the Jardim da Cerca Graça, a small park hidden in the middle of hustle and bustle of the Portuguese capital. Next, we'll make a stop at the Mirador de Graça, a place with a lot of atmosphere from where we will have the best views of the city.
After that, we'll visit the outside of the church of São Vicente de Fora, an impressive temple built in honor of the patron saint of Lisbon. Our last stop will be the Santa Clara Market, the most famous flea market in the city, where we'll end this two-and-a-half-hour tour.
