Supersonic MiG-29 Flight Experience
Supersonic MiG-29 Flight Experience
Flight to the edge of space with aerobatics
This experience lasts between 40 and 45 minutes and includes the ascent to the stratosphere at an altitude of 20 kilometres. You'll be able to see where you can see the curvature of the earth, breaking the sound barrier for 20 minutes while experiencing various aerobatic manoeuvres. We'll do loops, inverted flight, 360-degree turns and countless combat manoeuvres.
Supersonic flight with acrobatics
The duration is the same as the previous one (40-45 minutes), but it differs slightly in that we'll not ascend to the stratosphere and therefore the flight will take place at lower altitudes. We'll break the sound barrier for 20 minutes and perform the same acrobatics worthy of a combat situation.
Subsonic flight with aerobatics
This is our most "basic" experience. The duration is 25 minutes, and unlike the previous one, it does not include supersonic flight. It does include all the aerobatics.
More Information about the MiG-29
The MiG-29 flights are operated by Russian military pilots and depart from Sokol Air Base, located in the city of Nizhny Novgorod, about an hour from Moscow. Since its inauguration in 1932, more than 43,000 aircraft have been built at Sokol, including the famous MiG fighters.
For organisational reasons, this experience must be booked at least 2 months in advance. Up to 2, accompanying people can attend free of charge.
Requirements
All people between 18 and 78 years of age, weighing a maximum of 110 kilograms and measuring a maximum of 205 centimetres in height, are allowed to fly in MiG-29 fighter planes.
As for medical requirements, we advise that people with hypertension (blood pressure over 200) not to participate to avoid problems with pressure changes. People who have undergone heart, spinal or brain surgery should also avoid this activity.
Why is it so expensive?
In addition to the cost of the plane (30 million dollars) and fuel (3,500 litres per flight), each departure involves more than 50 people from the airbase and requires reserving airspace and a large number of permits.
