Itaúba Reservoir Day Trip + Boat Ride
Description
At the time indicated, we'll meet at the Termas Romanas Recanto Maestro. Here, we'll board our vehicle that will take us on an 80 km (50 mile) journey to the dock at the Itaúba reservoir, a site that has played a huge part in the development of Rio Grande do Sul.
When we arrive at the port, located close to the hydroelectric power plant, we'll get on a boat for a 10 km (6.2 miles) ride that will take us to the Alagüe cliffs, which are considered one of the most beautiful places in this eastern state.
During the boat ride, we'll sail around the emerald waters of the reservoir and admire the Estrela and Benzedura waterfalls, and we'll see the Butucatu geological formation which originated from the desertification of the old continent of Gondwana.
We'll enjoy the unique landscape and marvel at the local flora and fauna. Additionally, we'll tell you some of the legends from the area, such as the farmer who paid his workers by pushing them in the water. How scary!
Finally, we'll return to the dock to board our vehicle again and head back to Restinga Sêca, where we'll say our goodbyes approximately 5.5 hours after the start of the activity.
