Guanabara Bay Yacht Ride
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Marina da Glória, where a yacht will be waiting for us to sail around Guanabara Bay. All aboard!
During a 1.5-hour cruise, we'll discover the so-called "Marvellous City" of Rio de Janeiro and some of its most iconic landmarks from a completely different point of view. We'll pass by Villegagnon Island, Santos Dumont Airport, the historic Fiscal Island and the imposing Navy Arsenal.
Next, we'll pass the innovative Museum of Tomorrow, a jewel of contemporary architecture that has become a symbol of the revitalisation of the port area. From there, we'll continue on to Niterói, passing under the magnificent Rio-Niterói Bridge. Did you know that it is 13 km (8 mi) long?
We'll continue our yacht ride, passing by the Acoustic Shell, until we reach the iconic Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), designed by Oscar Niemeyer, whose futuristic structure seems to float above the sea.
The tour continues along the coast of Niterói, passing by charming spots such as Adam and Eve beaches, and important military constructions such as Santa Cruz Fortress, Lage Fort and São João Fortress, which tell the story of Brazil's military history.
In the final stretch, we'll see one of the most famous sights in Rio: the majestic Sugarloaf Mountain. You'll have a few minutes to take the best souvenir photos from the boat with this imposing natural monument in the background.
On the way back, we'll sail along Flamengo Beach and pass in front of the old Urca Casino building. In addition, throughout the tour, you'll have an audio guide in English that will reveal the secrets of each place.
Once back at the starting point, we'll end this 1.5-hour activity.
