Spot Dolphins and Whales in São Tomé

At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in São Tomé and, from there, we'll travel to Ana Chaves Bay Pier.

Once we arrive at the dock, we'll embark on a leisurely boat trip around the north of the island of São Tomé. On this trip along the northern coastline, we'll try to spot whales, dolphins and other marine animals that inhabit these waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

We'll skirt the coasts of Praia Gamboa, Praia Cruz and Praia da Mikolo in search of these beautiful creatures. After trying to spot different specimens, we'll continue sailing along the north coast of São Tomé in the direction of the Blue Lagoon. Did you know that it's one of the main natural paradises of the island?

In this paradisiacal spot, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to swim, sunbathe on the beach or snorkel. Afterwards, we'll set off on our return journey and, if the conditions allow, make a brief stop at an unspoilt islet in Ilhéu das Cabras.

We'll conclude our cruise by returning to the departure dock. From there, we'll return to your hotel in the city of São Tomé, where we'll arrive 4 hours after pickup.

Pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels in the city of São Tomé. If you're staying in another area of the island, you'll be picked up at the following meeting point in the island's capital: the intersection of Rua 3 de Fevreiro and Avenida Kwame N'Kruma.

Whale and Dolphin Watching

The north coast of São Tomé is one of the best places in São Tomé and Príncipe to spot whales, dolphins and other cetaceans. However, the animals are unpredictable. The amount of whales and dolphins spotted will depend on a variety of factors, such as the weather and the breeding and calving seasons of the different species.
