Singapore Free Walking Tour
Tour Details
A city-state and an island nation. Are you ready to discover one of the most exotic destinations in Southeast Asia? To begin, we’ll meet at Raffles Place, where our free walking tour of Singapore will start.
First, we’ll take a stroll to the Singapore River, the city’s historic heart. You’ll see how old warehouses and trading boats have given way to modern bars and restaurants. Here, we’ll stop at the bronze sculptures of The River Merchants, which capture the spirit of the early traders and Singapore’s transformation into a global metropolis.
We’ll then continue across Cavenagh Bridge, the city’s oldest suspension bridge (1869), linking the civic district with the commercial area. Nearby, we’ll admire the neoclassical grandeur of The Fullerton Hotel, a former post office now converted into a luxurious five-star hotel overlooking the river.
Our route will then take us past the Asian Civilisations Museum and the historic Victoria Concert Hall, home to the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and one of the country’s oldest national monuments. Of course, we’ll also stop outside the National Gallery Singapore, the largest visual arts institution in Southeast Asia, housed in two beautifully restored national monuments.
Finally, after a two-and-a-half-hour walk, we’ll end the free tour of Singapore at the Esplanade Waterfront and Merlion Park. There, we’ll say goodbye next to the iconic Merlion statue while enjoying sweeping views of Marina Bay and the city skyline.
