Day Trip Details

At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Baku to begin this day trip to Karabakh, a region located among the majestic peaks of the Caucasus. After a journey of approximately 5 hours, we’ll arrive in Khankendi, the capital of the territory and the starting point of our trip.

We’ll begin by visiting the Nana Baba Monument, a symbol of faith and devotion deeply rooted in the local culture. Afterwards, we’ll see the Parliament and the University of Karabakh, which reflect the administrative and educational renewal of the region.

During the walk through Khankendi, you’ll sense the spirit of reconstruction that fills its streets, a blend of past and future. Did you know that Karabakh remained closed to the world for over 3 decades due to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict? We’ll tell you all about it during the tour.

We’ll then travel to Shusha, considered the cultural jewel of Karabakh and birthplace of poets and musicians. Here, we’ll visit the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, an architectural treasure that has recovered its splendor. We’ll also visit the Bullet-Riddled Busts, a moving reminder of the region’s recent past, and the Natavan House Museum, dedicated to the renowned poet Khurshidbanu Natavan.

Very close by, we’ll find the Natavan Spring, known for its crystal-clear waters, and we’ll continue towards the Shusha Fortress, which offers impressive panoramic views of the valley. We’ll continue with a visit to the M.P. Vagif Mausoleum, built in honor of the poet and vizier of the Karabakh Khanate.

During the day trip, we’ll give you free time in Khankendi or Shusha so you can have lunch in a local restaurant.

The route will take us to the Jidir Duzu plateau, a historic venue for ancient horse races and today a natural viewpoint from which you can admire the impressive landscapes of the Caucasus. You’ll take plenty of photos!

Finally, we’ll begin the return journey to Baku and we’ll say goodbye on Lev Tolstoy Street after a total of 14 hours of the day trip.
