This rockclimbing experience at Piedra del Peñol will take you to conquer up to five vertical routes on one of Colombia's most impressive monoliths. You'll defy gravity in the heart of Antioquia!

Activity Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Estadero El Mono, located 1,640 ft (500 m) from the main entrance of the Piedra del Peñol, or Rock of Guatapé, a giant rock standing 721 ft (220 m) tall that dominates the Guatapé Dam.

Here, we'll provide you with the technical material necessary for the activity, including a harness, helmet, ropecarabiners, chalk, and specialized footwear. Are you ready to climb one of the most iconic rock formations in Colombia?

Next up, we'll go on a short hike to the climbing base, where we'll start with easier routes. This first phase will be a warm-up, where the instructor can access your skills and adapt the activity to your level. The Piedra del Peñol will challenge you from the very beginning, by finding the next foothold, maintaining your balance, trusting your hands... Every section conquered will be a small victory!

The climb at Piedra del Peñol will take place along five vertical routes in different sections of the monolith, with heights of up to 262 ft (80 m). The routes have been selected to offer technical variety and different sensations on each ascent. All will share the same reward: the view over the Guatapé Dam, the green valleys of Antioquia, and the satisfaction of reaching a new milestone.

Once we've completed the routes, we'll start our journey back to the meeting point, where we'll conclude this vertical adventure after 4 hours.
