Pentateuco Winery Tour
Pentateuco Winery Tour
At 11:30 am, we'll meet up at the Pentateuco Winery and head inside so we can get our tour of the winery in Ribera del Fresno started.
To begin, we'll explain how you can differentiate between the different grape varieties used in this winery: tempranillo, cabernet, sauvignon, garnacha, monastrell and mazuelo. We'll reveal how they're grown and which unique characteristics contribute to the flavour of this wine, which is made in the Ribera del Guadiana Designation of Origin.
Next, we'll go to the winemaking area and see some of the techniques used to make this famous wine. We'll then go to the ageing room and show you the different woods used for the barrels. While we're here, we'll discuss why the correct choice of this raw material is so important.
Our tour will then take us into the tasting room where we'll be given a 30-minute wine tasting lesson. You'll learn how to detect the different flavours of the wines by paying attention to their aromas, body and persistence.
During the lesson, you'll have a delicious aperitif consisting of artisanal cheese, local Iberian cured meats and two glasses of wine.
We'll say our goodbyes at 1:30 pm outside the winery.
