Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Moreira Salles Institute, right on Paulista Avenue, to begin this free tour of São Paulo's most iconic avenue. From outside the building, we'll learn about its contemporary architecture with clean lines and its key role as a cultural hub.

From there, we'll walk to the Conjunto Nacional, an iconic complex that symbolizes São Paulo's modernization in the mid-20th century, as it integrates retail, offices, and residential spaces into a single urban block.

Next, we'll stop in front of the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), world-famous for its brutalist architecture and its structure suspended on red pillars. From the outside, we will discuss its cultural importance and the impact it had on the avenue’s urban development.

We'll then continue to Trianon Park, a small green oasis that contrasts with Paulista Avenue’s asphalt and skyscrapers. We'll stroll among its trees before passing by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP) and the Gazeta Building, two landmarks closely linked to the city’s political, economic, and media life.

After that, we'll pass by the Pasteur Institute, Itaú Cultural, and Japan House, where we'll learn how international influences have shaped São Paulo's cultural identity, especially through the Japanese community. The unique SESC and Santa Catarina Hospital will be part of the free tour as examples of how São Paulo blends services, culture, and architecture

Finally, we'll visit Casa das Rosas, an elegant early 20th-century mansion that preserves the memory of the former coffee elite. There, we'll say goodbye after a 2.5-hour tour.
