Meteora Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, your journey will begin at Thessaloniki Bus Station Makedonia, where you’ll board a comfortable coach bound for Kalambaka. After a short transfer in Trikala, we’ll reach our destination approximately 4 hours later.
At the station in Kalambaka, your local guide will be waiting to welcome you and begin a sightseeing tour of more than 4 hours around Meteora. Along the way, you’ll uncover the secrets of this breathtaking monastic complex, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, learning about the geological formation of its towering rocks and the ascetic life of the monks who once climbed them in search of solitude.
During the afternoon, we’ll admire the 6 monasteries of Meteora and have the opportunity to visit the interior of 3 of them. We’ll also stop at carefully chosen viewpoints to capture spectacular photos and visit the exclusive hermit caves of Badovas, carved into the rock centuries ago.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time in the center of Kalambaka to enjoy lunch, have a coffee, or browse the local shops. Finally, we’ll return by coach, with a transfer again in Trikala, arriving back in Thessaloniki approximately 13 hours after departure.
