Qingcheng Mountain and Dujiangyan Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We will start the day by picking you up from your hotel in Chengdu. Are you ready to embark on this trip to two of Sichuan’s most important places? Let’s get going!
Our first stop will be the Dujiangyan irrigation system, a feat of hydraulic engineering that has been in operation for more than 2,250 years. We'll explore the world’s oldest dam-free irrigation system and the wisdom it holds.
We'll visit the levee known as the Fish Mouth (Yuzui Fish Mouth Levee), the Feisha Yan Spillway, and the Baopingkou water diversion channel, while learning about their fascinating history.
After exploring this marvel of Chinese engineering, we will take a break of approximately one hour so you can have lunch at a local restaurant on your own.
With renewed energy, we will head to Mount Qingcheng, one of the most sacred Taoist sites in China, and, like our previous visit, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Known for its lush vegetation and deep cultural significance, you will have the opportunity to discover the very place where this philosophy was born.
We will visit temples such as the Jianfu Palace, Shangqing Palace, Laojun Pavilion, and Tianshi Cave. To go up, you can choose to hike and enjoy nature or take the cable car if you prefer.
Finally, after a day of about 8-9 hours, we will head back to Chengdu, where the tour will end at Tianfu Square.
