Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll start this day trip to Santa Clara after picking you up from your hotel in Trinidad. Once on board the vehicle, we'll begin a journey of about 20 minutes toward Manaca Iznaga, located in the heart of the Valley de los Ingenios.
For 2 hours, we'll explore this former sugar plantation, a testament to the Colonial period of the region. Did you know its tower, standing at 147 ft (45 m), was built to watch over the slaves in the cane fields so they wouldn't escape? Here, we'll enjoy a guarapo tasting, a freshly squeezed sugarcane juice.
Afterward, we'll set off to the center of Santa Clara, a journey lasting approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once we arrive, we'll enjoy a 30-minute tour of the Museum of Decorative Arts, near the Vidal Park, an elegant building that houses furniture, porcelain, and antique artifacts that portray the lifestyle of the Cuban aristocracy from the 17th to the 20th century.
Our next stop? The monument of the Tren Blindado, where we'll relive one of the most famous events of Ernesto “Che” Guevara during the Cuban Revolution. We'll tell you how this event marked the end of the Batista dictatorship and the start of the socialist regime on the island.
Then, we'll reach the Che Guevara Mausoleum, a space erected as a symbol of respect and reflection, where the remains of the revolutionary lie to rest along with his 29 fellow combatants.
After this visit, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore Santa Clara at your own pace. We'll return to your vehicle and head to a traditional restaurant in Manaca Iznaga, where we'll enjoy a typical lunch.
After lunch, we'll stop at the Mirador del Valle, where we'll take the last pictures of the day.
Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel in Trinidad after a total of 7 to 8 hours.
