Tour Details

At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Addis Ababa to begin this private tour of the Ethiopian capital. Among its avenues and historic corners, we’ll explore a city where modernity and tradition coexist. Let’s go!

First, we’ll visit the National Museum of Ethiopia, the most important in the country. Here you’ll see Lucy, the world’s most famous hominid fossil skeleton, more than 3 million years old. You’ll also admire Ethiopian artworks, sculptures, and archaeological objects that narrate thousands of years of history.

After exploring the museum for about 1.5 hours, our next stop will be the Holy Trinity Cathedral, an architectural gem built in the European Baroque style and decorated with stained-glass windows. This temple is not only a place of worship but also the mausoleum of important figures in Ethiopian history, such as Emperor Haile Selassie.

We’ll continue the tour at the Ethnological Museum, located in the former palace of Emperor Haile Selassie, inside the Addis Ababa University campus. We’ll take a guided visit of between 1 and 1.5 hours through its rooms. Here you’ll learn about Ethiopia’s ethnic diversity, customs, musical instruments, clothing, and ancestral traditions. A cultural journey that will help you understand the enormous variety of identities that coexist in this country.

Around midday, you’ll have about 40 minutes of free time to eat, with the option to choose between Ethiopian, European, Indian, or Chinese cuisine. It’s the perfect moment to taste the local gastronomy.

With renewed energy, we’ll spend 1 hour exploring the Merkato, one of the largest open-air markets in Africa. Among alleys filled with stalls, the aroma of spices, handicrafts, and textiles, you’ll experience the authentic essence of Addis Ababa.

Finally, we’ll head up to Mount Entoto, considered the historical cradle of the capital. We’ll spend 2 hours enjoying unbeatable panoramic views of the city and visiting ancient stone churches. We’ll also share interesting facts about its role during the imperial era.

At the end, we’ll take you back to your hotel and say goodbye after a total of 8 hours of private touring.
